SECOND LANGUAGES

Beginning in grade one, the children learn two second languages, French and German, in a playful and interactive environment. Through story, song, rhyme, and movement, children in the early grades become acquainted with different cultures and widen their horizon of human understanding by looking at the world through the eyes of others. Grammar and reading begin with imaginative games in grade four and continue more formally in the higher grades. The children occasionally present short plays, songs, and poems in another language at school assemblies.
