JUNIOR KINDERGARTEN PROGRAMS FOR 2023/2024

(Formerly titled ‘Preschool Programs’)

The Calgary Waldorf School offers full-day and half-day Junior Kindergarten programs. The child’s day begins with outdoor play in the naturalized environment in our Kinderwing playground. The beginnings of large-scale, cooperative play take hold while the children climb hills, play amongst the trees, and excavate the giant sandbox.

Once inside, the children’s day is structured in a gentle, dependable rhythm that allows them to experience restful quiet play that engages their fine motor skills and concentration, story time enhanced with puppetry to engage their imagination, independent and fantasy play building block castles, homes and forts with natural materials, and a group snack so that children can come together as a community for sustenance and to practice table manners and conversation skills.

Junior Kindergarten: For 3 and 4 year-olds. Full & Half-Day Options

For Children 3 Years-Old by September 1.
Children must be born between Jan. 1/19 and Aug. 30/20 to apply for enrolment for the 2023/24 school year.

This program is best suited for older 3 and 4 year-old children (Born between Jan.1, 2019 and Feb. 28, 2020).
There are limited spaces for children aged 3 to 3 ½ (Born between Mar. 1 and Aug. 30, 2020).
All Children must be toilet trained and able to independently attend to their toileting needs.

• 5 mornings or full days per week: 8:30 am to Noon or 3:00 pm on Monday to Friday.
• 3 mornings or full days per week: 8:30 am to Noon or 3:00 pm on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
• 2 mornings or full days per week: 8:30 am to Noon or 3:00 pm on Tuesday and Thursday

7:30 am Early Drop Off / 3:00 to 5:30 pm Aftercare available.  See our Aftercare Program information.

Early Drop Off/Aftercare Program

The Calgary Waldorf School offers early drop-off and an aftercare program to children enrolled in our Junior Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Grades One to Six Programs. The Aftercare Program operate from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm each school day. Early morning drop-off, beginning at 7:30 am, is an option for children registered in our Early Childhood Programs.
