Parent and Tot Program

This is an excellent opportunity for parents to take a first step in becoming involved with the Calgary Waldorf School. Parents will learn about the Waldorf approach to early childhood and experience the mood and routines of a Waldorf early childhood program.

Children and parents, grandparents or caregivers together will participate in free play, circle-time with seasonal songs and rhymes, a puppet play, and snack. During playtime for the children, parents gather to share caregiving experiences, ask questions, and make seasonal crafts and simple Waldorf inspired toys.

Each week, articles on Waldorf Education are shared for further reading at home, complementing the discussions had during the class.

To ensure that you and your child are happy and comfortable during the program, we encourage you to dress appropriately for all weather conditions.

Younger siblings of children registered in the program are also welcome to attend.

Registrations will be taken on a first come first served basis at the Calgary Waldorf School office (403-287-1868) on the first day of registration. Please note that participants of the previous session have priority registration for the upcoming session. This can result in only a few spaces being available for new enrolments in the second session.

Payment is due at the time of registration to confirm your family’s placement in the program.

Cancellation Policy 8 week sessions: $100 is non-refundable. The remaining fees will be refunded providing we receive written notice prior to March 15 for the spring session. There are no pro-rated refunds for withdrawals after the session has commenced.

Snack: This year, snack will not be prepared and shared during the program. Rather, we invite families to each pack their own. Although we will not be sharing food, we can still enjoy snack time together as a group.

Covid – 19 Restrictions:  The Calgary Waldorf School must follow all required Health Protocols mandated by our governing bodies (Alberta Health Services, Alberta Education etc.).  Adults participating in this program will be required to be masked if health restrictions require adults to mask indoors or while participating in similar type programs.  This group is not considered a cohort for any restrictions. As restrictions change the requirements for attendance will be adjusted accordingly throughout the duration of the session.  Your flexibility and understanding is appreciated.  For the well-being of all participants and staff in the class, adults with mask exemptions cannot be accommodated in the program as there is not sufficient space to allow the required social distancing.  We respectfully ask those families to please wait and join a session when indoor masking is no longer a requirement.
