PROVINCIAL ACHIEVEMENT TEST RESULTS FROM SPRING, 2008

Alberta Education requires all provincially accredited schools to have their students in Grades Three, Six, and Nine write the standardized Provincial Achievement Tests.  It has recently released the results of the tests that were written in May and June of last school year.  As in past years, once again our Calgary Waldorf School students did very well on the PAT’s.  A detailed breakdown of all the results is available by clicking on the pdf file below.

Congratulations to all of our students and teachers, who continue to maintain strong academic and all-around standards in all of their work in the context of our unique curriculum.  While we do not consider these Provincial exams to be a complete measure of children’s abilities or of our school program, and we continue to have philosophical and pedagogical questions about standardized testing, we are pleased to report that our children’s educational experiences at our school are preparing them to meet and exceed the standards set by Alberta Education.
