Our commitment is to provide a healthy, nutritious, affordable, home-cooked lunch for our children, served with home-style love. Made with the freshest ingredients available and as much natural and organic product as possible. Both meat and meatless choices are offered at each meal. On Tuesdays, tasty and satisfying wheat-free and dairy-free meals are offered. Lunches are served on ceramic plates with stainless steel cutlery and any waste is composted or recycled.

Paul Jolicoeur led the way- developing the program for our school. He researched what the school and parents wanted in the children's diet and what the children wanted on their plate. He also visited other schools to study their lunch programs, a step that was very valuable in helping Paul set up a system and menu that would provide a wholesome, appealing and affordable lunch.

Menus and order forms are published in the school's Wednesday Notice mid-month, and children can participate in three ways: Full-Time, Pick-A-Lunch, or Drop-In Card.

Full-time participation costs $72 /month for Grades One to Three (small) and $79/month for Grades One to Nine (regular). A large lunch is also offered for $89 /month suitable for students in Junior High. Pick-A-Lunch participation costs $6.20 (small for Grades One to Three), $7.00 (medium for Grades One to Nine) or $7.75 (large for Grades Seven to Nine) per lunch. Drop-in lunches can be ordered by 9 a.m. the day they are required and are $35 for a five-meal card.

Call 287-1868 ext 135 for further details or to order your lunch. Lunches are not served on Fridays, as this is the Pizza Day fund raising day for the junior high.

On the first day of the lunch program in September 2004, Paul served 42 Taco Salad lunches to children and Faculty members. He now serves more than 100 delicious lunches every day. All reports indicate that the school, the parents, faculty and the children are happy with the meals and the program during its first year. Paul is determined to continually improve the service, the program and the meals, and encourages suggestions and input from the Waldorf community. We want to thank all those who support the lunch program especially those who showed their faith in the vision before a single meal was served to their children.
