Sunflower and Buttercup Preschool
The Calgary Waldorf School offers both a morning and afternoon preschool program. The child's day begins with outdoor play in the naturalized environment in our Kinderwing playground. The beginnings of large-scale, cooperative play take hold while the children climb hills, hide amongst the trees, and excavate the giant sandbox.
Once inside, the children's day is structured in a gentle, dependable rhythm that allows them to experience restful quiet play that engages their fine motor skills and concentration, story time enhanced with puppetry to engage their imagination, independent and fantasy play building block castles, homes and forts with natural materials, and a group snack so that children can come together as a community for sustenance and to practise table manners and conversation skills.
