Sweetpea Parent and Tot Programs for 2008/2009

This is an excellent opportunity for parents to take a first step in becoming involved in the Waldorf School and learn about the Waldorf Approach to early childhood.

Under the guidance of a lead teacher and an assistant, families will experience the mood and routines of a Waldorf early childhood program. Children and parents together will experience outdoor play, story, circle and snack. During the indoor playtime, parents gather to make either a seasonal craft or simple Waldorf inspired toys. Each week, articles on Waldorf Education are sent home so that families can learn more, complementing their classroom experience. Younger siblings of children registered in the program are also welcome to attend.  
 

Thursday Morning Group

Age: 2 to 3 ½ year-olds.
Time: 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Where: The "Kinderwing" of our school at 515 Cougar Ridge Drive S.W.
Dates: Semester 1: 16 classes from Sept. 11 – Jan. 22.  No classes Nov. 13, 20, Dec. 25 and Jan. 1
Semester 2: 16 classes from Feb. 5 – June 11. No classes Feb. 19, Apr. 9 and May 14.

Friday Morning Group

Age: 2 to 3½ year-olds.
Time: 9:00 - 11:00 a.m.
Where: The "Kinderwing" of our school at 515 Cougar Ridge Drive S.W.
Dates: Semester 1: 16 classes from Sept. 12 – Jan. 23. No classes Nov. 14, 21, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2
Semester 2: 16 classes from Feb. 6 – June 12. No classes Feb. 20, Apr. 10 and May 15.
 

Friday Afternoon Group

Age: 2 to 3½ year-olds.
Time: 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Where: The "Kinderwing" of our school at 515 Cougar Ridge Drive S.W.
Dates: Semester 1: 16 classes from Sept. 12 – Jan. 23. No classes Nov. 14, 21, Dec. 26 and Jan. 2
Semester 2: 16 classes from Feb. 6 – June 12. No classes Feb. 20, Apr. 10 and May 15.

Fees: $400 per semester: $200 at registration (non-refundable) and
$200  by post dated cheque dated Sept. 1 for semester 1,  or Jan. 1 for semester 2.

All ages determined as of September 1, 2008

New For Fall 2008 –  8 Week Saturday Morning Parent and Tot Class

Age: 2 to 3½ year-olds.
Time: 9:30 - 11:30 a.m.
Where: The "Kinderwing" of our school at 515 Cougar Ridge Drive S.W.
Dates: Semester 1: 8 classes from Sept. 12 – Nov. 8. No class on Oct. 11.
Semester 2: 8 classes from Feb. 28 – Apr. 25. No class on Apr. 11.

Fees: $200 per semester payable at registration.

All ages determined as of September 1, 2008
(For both sessions the child’s birthday must be before September 1, 2006)    

Registration Dates:

Semester 1: Friday, June 6th, 2008 beginning at 9:00am
Semester 2: Friday, December 5th, 2008 beginning at 9:00am.

Registration Procedure for the Parent and Tot Program

Registrations will be taken on a first come first served basis in person at the Calgary Waldorf School office. Please note that participants of the previous session have priority registration for the upcoming session.  This can result in only a few spaces being available for new enrolments in the winter session.

At times our Parent and Tot Program filled to capacity on the first day of registration. This program has been very popular and therefore we recommend coming early on registration day to avoid disappointment. 

A registration form will be available at the school office on the registration day.  Payment of $200 is due at the time of registration to confirm your family’s placement in the program. This fee is non-refundable.  The remaining fees of $200 are payable September 1st for semester 1 or January 1st for semester 2 by post-dated cheque at registration.

Cancellation Policy

16 week sessions: The $200 fee payable at registration is non-refundable. Your post-dated cheque for the remaining fees will be returned to you providing we receive written notice prior to September 1 for semester 1 or January 1 for semester 2. There are no pro-rated refunds for withdrawals after the semester has commenced.

8 week sessions: $100 is non-refundable.  The remaining $100 will be refunded providing we receive written notice of withdrawal prior to September 1 for the fall session and February 1 for the winter session. There are no pro-rated refunds for withdrawals after the semester has commenced.
